UP.FIT, located in California and a division of Tesla modification company Unplugged Performance, has successfully transformed the Tesla Model S Plaid into a police car. This vehicle made its first appearance at the 2024 SEMA Show in Las Vegas, aimed at supporting the Los Angeles Police Department's community awareness program.
The new car is equipped with specialized emergency lights, cleverly installed behind the front and rear windows, as well as along the sides of the car, reducing the aerodynamic drag caused by traditional light bars. It also features high and low-frequency sirens and an early warning system, which, while adding weight, has only a minimal impact on the vehicle's range.
This police vehicle retains the Plaid's tri-motor all-wheel drive system, generating 1020 horsepower, allowing the civilian version to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 1.9 seconds. To accommodate police needs, the vehicle also features lighter wheels and upgraded brakes.
