2023 MANHART SL 700 R - Sound, interior and Exterior in Details!

Thanks: MANHART Performance 707 hp in the limited MANHART SL 700 R While the “AMG” label has always identified the sporty top models of the current Mercedes-Benz SL generations over the past 30 years, the family double name for the R232 series introduced last spring is no longer “Benz”, but in general for all series models “AMG”. And while this change in the nomenclature may not strike the layperson at first, it unequivocally points out to those in the know that the Affalterbach-based company has trimmed the now eighth SL generation even more intensively in the direction of sportiness and driving dynamics than they did with the predecessor R231 was the case. The fact that a lot more is “possible” in this respect is underlined by our tuning specialists who have developed our SL 700 R Limited shown here, which – one might almost say “of course” – is based on the top R232 SL 63 4MATIC+. With 585 hp and 800 Nm, our MANHART technicians pushed the 4.0-liter biturbo V8, which is anything but weak, into new spheres with hardware and software modifications: After improving the intercooler set up, installing an air filter upgrade as well as a MANHART MHtronik powerbox, TÜV-approved 707 hp and 935 Nm are now in the data sheet, which are managed by an AMG Speedshift MCT 9G automatic including a MANHART transmission upgrade and transmitted to the asphalt via all four wheels. As an option, we also offer OPF delete sport downpipes with 600-cell catalytic converters, which, however, do not have TÜV approval and are therefore only intended for export. While the roadster body with the MANHART-typical gold on a black background decor has been retained as standard, MANHART Forged Line wheels by mbDESIGN with the same finish now rotate in the wheel arches. The Y-spoke monoblock rims already measure 10×22 inches on the steering axle with 295/30ZR22 Hankook Ventus S1 Evo2 rubber, the rear axle is even equipped with 12×22 inches and 335/25 tires. We individualized the callipers of the AMG sports brake system, which has remained technically standard, with our own company logo. On request, upgrades can be made here as well as with regard to the chassis according to customer requirements. Furthermore, individual interior refinements are already in preparation. The addition “Limited” already anticipates that only a limited number of the MANHART SL 700 R will be produced in this configuration: the edition is limited to ten vehicles.
