2018 model, two-door F56, there is a continuous and noticeable thumping sound from the right rear of the vehicle at idle. I've checked it myself, and when I unscrew the fuel cap, the sound stops immediately. Once I put it back on, it starts again after a while. If I cover the fuel cap with my hand, the sound stops right away, but once I remove my hand, it starts again. I suspect it has something to do with a component related to the fuel tank, perhaps the charcoal canister or the fuel tank vent? Anyone knowledgeable can help? I feel like I'm close to solving the problem, can someone assist?

9When you open the fuel cap of your 2014 ASX and hear a sound of air being sucked in, it could be due to the pressure difference between the inside of the fuel tank and the outside air. This is usually normal and can happen because the fuel system is sealed to prevent fuel vapors from escaping. If the sound is frequent or you're experiencing other issues, it might be a good idea to have it checked by a professional.
