In the past few years, the manufacturing industry was making a lot of money, with companies like Xiaomi and OPPO outsourcing their phone production to foreign manufacturers.

I've had my car for four and a half years and it's only done 36,000 km. It's a 2019 model with the 4J11 engine. Recently, when I start it cold, the engine struggles a lot. The RPM doesn't go up immediately, and the needle wobbles between 500 and 1000 for a few seconds, making it feel like it's about to stall. Then the RPM suddenly jumps to 2000-3000 before settling back to normal idle after a few seconds. There are no warning lights, and once it's running, everything seems normal. I've cleaned the carbon buildup and throttle, and checked the intake for leaks, but the issue persists. I'm not sure what to check next. What should I look into?
I'm a 17-year-old mechanic, and seeing these makes me itch to have one. But unfortunately, I can only dream about it since I don't have the money.
I want to get a new car for my wife. She's currently driving an IS. After looking at a lot of cars, only the G70 shooting brake seems relatively pleasing. Here are my main concerns: 1. A friend mentioned that there's not much difference between the two cars, and the IS might be slightly better, so it may not be significant. 2. Recently, many car companies are offering discounts and promotions, but the manufacturer currently shows no sign of doing so. 3. Both cars require ordering and production scheduling, which means a long waiting time, making it awkward. 4. Since it's all about ordering and production scheduling, the options and configurations are not flexible enough. 5. I'm worried about their sales and the potential of dealership closures. Have any other car owners faced similar awkward issues? [Facepalm]
4I have high hopes for Chery cars, but buying one can be disappointing. First, many car companies now offer lifetime free maintenance, but Chery does not. Second, when it comes to window tinting, the dealership tells you that it's outsourced, and you have to drive the car there yourself. Once you arrive, you find out the tint is transparent, which is basically like having no tint at all. If you want better quality tint, you have to pay a few thousand more out of pocket, and the sunroof isn't included either. Other car companies usually provide better quality tint for free. Third, when picking up the car, they inform you about insurance and say that to have "no damage" coverage, you need to spend several thousand more. I just want to say, Chery, can you not make potential buyers of Chery cars feel disappointed?
5I bought the 2019 Bestune T99 in September 2020. Since it was my first car purchase, I lacked experience and fell into many traps. Besides having many minor issues, I later discovered several parts were damaged. The tires were previously used, which immediately made me suspect that this car was probably a test drive vehicle. And I was right. A few days ago, I went to replace the turn signal lights and found that the wiring inside had been reconnected, and the connections were poorly done. Moreover, the production dates of the left and right turn signals were almost a year apart. (Cars from the factory have uniform dates.) After all these years, it's impossible to explain this to the dealership now! I hope everyone pays attention to details when buying a car to avoid being deceived.
6I've had my Ousheng for a year now, and after 15,000 kilometers, the engine started making a rattling sound like a tractor! I went to the 4S shop and they updated the software, which fixed it. Will this problem happen again in the future? I know a lot of people have faced this issue. If your car hasn't had this problem, please let us know. And for those who have experienced it, please share how you resolved it. 🙏🙏🙏
7If you're deciding between the 2022 Defender and the 2018 or 2019 Range Rover, here are a few things to consider. At 34, if you need a car that makes a statement and has always dreamed of the Range Rover, it might fulfill that childhood aspiration. However, if you're concerned about unwanted noises and have a bit of OCD, newer models like the 2022 Defender might have fewer issues in that regard due to advancements in manufacturing and technology. The Defender also has a rugged and modern appeal that many people appreciate. Consider what aspects are most important to you: the prestige of the Range Rover or the contemporary features and potential reliability of the Defender.
8I've been following the G80 for a few years now. Has anyone noticed that adding a mild hybrid system to the existing powertrain could make it more competitive? The ES's mild hybrid system really beats other competitors in terms of fuel economy!
9This car is the coolest on the internet, I absolutely love it. I'm just worried about not having a place to repair it after buying it. I really hope the company starts production again. It's such a shame to stop making such a good-looking car.
10After 8 years with my old petrol car, it started burning oil, and I noticed a lot of people around me were switching to electric vehicles. That got me thinking. I was originally planning to get the top-spec Tank 300 (Menglong), and during the National Day holiday I went for a test drive — it met my expectations. On the way back, I stopped by a Jetour dealership and saw the T2. My daughter instantly fell in love with the exterior and interior — it completely overshadowed the Menglong in her eyes. Looks clearly played a big role, and after a test drive, it felt good enough. Since I don’t really need 4WD for daily driving, I booked it right away. Looking back now, I do wish I had waited for the 4WD version — a bit more power would’ve been nice. For this type of vehicle, electric power saves a lot. For daily use, my cost is just around 0.10 AED/km (charging at home on off-peak rates of 3.3 AED/kWh). My daily round-trip to work is under 20 km, so I only charge every four days, when the battery hits around 20%.For long-distance trips, I don’t bother with charging — it’s too much hassle. I just set the car to preserve 60% battery and drive on petrol. Even if fuel consumption is slightly higher, it’s fine since I only do a few road trips per year. The car is heavy and feels solid on the road. Acceleration is decent, but the 4WD version definitely would’ve offered better power and confidence. I’ve had the car for over half a year now. So far, the only issue has been a slight noise from the steering system — which was fixed. Other than that, no major problems. Buying a car always involves a bit of luck anyway. The biggest downside is the driver assistance system — it lags behind the competition. The infotainment system has improved a bit with the latest 4.11 update, but it still has room for improvement.Overall, I’m quite satisfied. Compared to many newer EV startups, Chery is an established brand. The lifetime warranty adds a lot of peace of mind, especially on the powertrain and electric components.
