Hongqi is a luxury brand under China's FAW Group, initially used by high-ranking officials of the Communist Party of China. However, it has since expanded its offerings to cater to a larger audience. Currently, the company offers three series of vehicles, including the H, Q, and L series. Recently, the company announced an update to the H9 model for 2024.
The H series targets the mid-to-high market, representing leading sedans in the market. The vehicle has gained popularity since its last update in 2021 and has received widespread acclaim for its design and features. The H9, as part of the H series, embodies Hongqi's new design language and is considered a symbol of luxury across China.
The company focused on improving the exterior details of the vehicle. This included updating the headlights with arrow-shaped daytime running lights. The grille now features chrome accents. The size of the chrome interior trims has also been increased, and the lower part of the front bumper has undergone slight modifications. The wheel design has also been improved with a multi-faceted pattern.
The side and rear of the vehicle have undergone minor changes. The taillights still span across the rear and are arranged vertically with full LED lighting units. The lower part of the rear bumper has been redesigned, featuring diffusers in the same color as the body and chrome accents resembling dual exhaust outlets. The dimensions of the vehicle are approximately 5137/1904/1498 mm for length, width, and height, with a wheelbase of 3060 mm.
The vehicle is equipped with 1.8-liter and 2.5-liter V6 engines, as well as a 3-liter V6 engine, while it is still awaiting confirmation for a 2-liter engine. The power of these engines has been updated, with the best-performing 3-liter engine providing 337 horsepower. The vehicle has yet to receive an electric or hybrid version.
