Exterior Design: A Minimalist Take on the M9
The AITO M8 embraces a design language similar to the M9 but with a more minimalist approach.
Gone are the interactive headlights, replaced by a sleek chrome trim running across the front fascia. Below it sit two matrix LED lens clusters alongside air deflector slots designed to improve aerodynamics. The roof houses LiDAR sensors for advanced driving assistance features.
From the side, the M8’s window design closely mirrors the M9’s, but the SUV swaps hidden door handles for more traditional ones. The rear maintains its innovative touch with taillights that double as customizable LED displays, capable of showing various patterns.
Measuring 5190mm in length, 1999mm in width, and 1795mm in height, with a 3105mm wheelbase, the M8 is almost a full-size SUV, offering impressive interior space.
Interior: Advanced Technology and Comfort
Leaked interior photos reveal a design similar to the M9 but featuring slightly smaller display screens. The cabin includes three large screens, along with a Head-Up Display (HUD) and a premium Huawei Sound system for an enhanced audio experience. Full details of the interior features will be unveiled at the official launch, but the M8 is expected to offer a luxurious and tech-forward cabin.
Powertrain: Efficient Hybrid Performance
The AITO M8 features a range extender hybrid system powered by a 1.5T engine paired with front and rear electric motors. The engine generates 118kW, while the front and rear motors deliver 165kW and 227kW of peak power, respectively. The SUV achieves fuel consumption of just 6.6 liters per 100 kilometers when driving without battery assistance.
Two battery pack options are available: a 36.019kWh pack offering a pure electric range of 161km and a 51.975kWh pack providing ranges of up to 235km and 240km depending on battery chemistry (lithium iron phosphate or lithium ternary).
Price Prediction
With its position below the flagship M9, the M8 is expected to be priced around 400,000 RMB (approximately 200,000 AED).
