On February 10th, BYD introduced the 2025 Seagull, a fully electric compact car available in three trims, starting at 69,800 RMB (approximately 34,900 AED). This new model brings major upgrades to its intelligent driving capabilities, featuring BYD’s latest high-level driver assistance system.
Although it comes with the entry-level DiPilot 100 system, it still offers NOA (Navigate on Autopilot) for highways across China, taking automation beyond the typical L2 driver-assistance systems.

The 2025 Seagull keeps its signature sharp, distinctive design for high recognition. A key update is the new smart driving badge on the rear, showcasing its upgraded autonomous capabilities. To support these features, BYD has added 12 cameras across the rear, fenders, and side mirrors, along with millimetre-wave and ultrasonic radars for improved precision.

Inside, the 2025 Seagull largely maintains the current model’s layout but now features a rotary gear shifter for a modern touch. The cabin includes:

For added convenience, the front seats have both Type-A and Type-C charging ports, with the Type-C port offering 60W fast charging—ideal for powering devices on the go.

The 2025 Seagull is powered by a 55 kW front-mounted electric motor, delivering 135 Nm of torque. It accelerates from 0 to 50 km/h in 4.9 seconds and reaches a top speed of 130 km/h.
There are two lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery options:

38.88 kWh (405 km CLTC range)
The car supports fast charging up to 40 kW, allowing a 30% to 80% charge in just 30 minutes.

The 2025 BYD Seagull features the DiPilot 100 intelligent driving system, powered by an NVIDIA Orin N chip with 84 TOPS (trillions of operations per second) of computing power. The system integrates:

A total of 29 sensors
It supports three main autonomous driving functions:
. Highway Navigation (HNOA) – Handles cruising, lane changes, overtaking, and merging, allowing extended hands-free driving.
. Automated Valet Parking (AVP) – Lets the car park and lock itself after the driver exits.
. Memory Navigation (MNOA) – The car can memorize three frequently traveled routes and automatically handle stop/start at traffic lights, intersections, overtaking, and yielding. (This feature will be added via an OTA update later this year.)
The Seagull also includes advanced safety features such as:
