Recently, Audi announced to restructure its site in Belgium, that has led to a shutdown of this site since the beginning of September and triggered demonstrations by employees.
According to the report, more than 10,000 demonstrators gathered in Place du Luxembourg, the seat of the European Parliament, to express their concerns about the future of manufacturing and their need for job security.
During the demonstration, employees at the site emphasised that European manufacturing is at risk of disappearing and called for the need to safeguard the future of manufacturing.
The restructuring and work stoppage at Audi's Belgian site has not only had a direct impact on local employees, but has also raised widespread concerns about the future of European car manufacturing.
