At the 2026 Beijing Auto Show, the Geely Galaxy booth will welcome a “tough guy.” Officially named the “Galaxy Warship 700,” this rugged SUV is Geely‘s first foray into the off-road market and a complete reconstruction of traditional off-road rules by a Chinese brand in the electrification era.

The Warship 700 features a boxy, “mech”-style design. At about 5 meters long with a wheelbase close to 3 meters, the tall body, external spare tire and scratch-resistant wheel arches exude ruggedness. But what truly sets it apart is the hard-core technology beneath the chassis.

The Warship 700 is equipped with Geely’s self-developed GVMC full-domain vector control system. By independently controlling the torque and braking force of all four wheels, it achieves capabilities that traditional off-road vehicles can only dream of: a tank turn – on narrow mountain roads or dead ends, the vehicle can rotate 360 degrees around its center with virtually zero turning radius; and crab walk mode – the vehicle moves diagonally like a crab, extremely useful for parallel parking or navigating narrow obstacles. Maximum wading depth reaches 800 mm, complemented by an intelligent adjustable air suspension for handling rivers, mud, sand and other tough terrain.

Powertrain-wise, the Warship 700 uses a dual-motor all-wheel-drive layout with combined power exceeding 400 kW, achieving 0-100 km/h in the 4-second range. CLTC pure-electric range exceeds 600 km, with 800V fast charging adding over 400 km in 15 minutes. More importantly, it is no poseur – Geely has developed a dedicated body-on-frame chassis and high-strength underbody for extreme off-road durability.

On the intelligence front, a roof-mounted LiDAR works with the Qianli Haohan H7 ADAS system, enabling full-scenario navigation assistance on highways and urban roads. Even in signal-free wilderness, a fusion system of high-precision maps and inertial navigation provides route guidance. Inside, the Galaxy Flyme Auto system integrates with an AI voice assistant, and off-road mode displays pitch angle, roll angle, altitude, wading depth and other professional data.

With an estimated price between 200,000 and 350,000 yuan, the Warship 700 sits far below traditional fuel off-roaders like the Mercedes G-Class or Land Rover Defender, yet offers comparable or better performance and intelligence. Its arrival means that Chinese brands have found a new breakthrough in the off-road segment once dominated by imports – redefining what a “capable off-road vehicle” is through electrification and intelligence. At the Beijing Auto Show, the Warship 700’s booth may well have one of the longest queues.
