In a high profile global event hosted in Milan, Italy, Geely Galaxy officially took the wraps off the final production version of its Galaxy M9 SUV. Marking the brand’s first full size model with a six seat layout, the Galaxy M9 represents a strategic move by Geely to strengthen its foothold in the premium electric and hybrid SUV market. Backed by a robust performance in the Chinese market and rapidly rising global sales, the M9 is expected to hit showrooms in 2025. The launch comes at a time when competition in the high tech luxury SUV segment is heating up worldwide.

Bold Design with a Futuristic Vision

The Geely Galaxy M9 stands out with a striking exterior that reflects a bold, modern identity inspired by the previously revealed Starship concept. At the front, a full width LED light bar seamlessly merges with high and low beam headlights, while the closed off front fascia enhances aerodynamic performance. Side air intakes and T-shaped styling elements further contribute to the SUV’s futuristic appeal. Sitting atop the roof is a sophisticated lidar sensor that powers the Chian Li Haohan advanced autonomous driving system, which integrates AI-driven smart control technologies.

The side profile complements the overall precision of the design, featuring clean character lines, multi spoke aluminum wheels, and conventional door handles that add a practical touch. Rear visibility is enhanced by extended glass panels between the C and D pillars, improving comfort and openness for third row passengers. At the rear, a connected LED taillight strip spans the width of the vehicle, accompanied by a bold GEELY wordmark and twin exhaust style accents, hinting at the M9’s plug in hybrid capabilities.

Advanced Interior and Luxury Level Tech Define the Geely Galaxy M9

Inside the Geely Galaxy M9, passengers are welcomed into a meticulously crafted cabin designed to deliver exceptional comfort and refinement. The SUV adopts a smart 2+2+2 seat configuration, ensuring each occupant enjoys a personalized space across all three rows. The overall interior ambiance leans into a premium feel, highlighted by a sporty multifunction steering wheel, a sleek central console equipped with intelligent rotary controls, and vertically oriented air vents that complement the cabin’s streamlined aesthetics.

Technology takes center stage with a wide, dual connected screen dominating the dashboard, inspired by the design language of the Lynk & Co 900. This setup enhances the smart driving experience and aligns the M9 with top tier competitors. The interior also includes high end convenience features such as dual wireless smartphone chargers, elegant cupholders, a flat floor in the rear for seamless movement, and a 180 mm wide pass through between the second row captain’s chairs. Passengers in the rear also benefit from a ceiling mounted entertainment screen for an immersive travel experience.

The M9 is expected to debut with Geely’s next gen Galaxy AI Digital Chassis, which integrates artificial intelligence with electronic steering control and advanced autonomous driving capabilities. This makes the M9 not only a luxurious SUV but also a benchmark in the evolution of smart mobility, positioning it to rival the most advanced global offerings in its class.

Geely Galaxy’s Global Rise: M9 Marks a Milestone in Continued Success

The launch of the M9 comes as a natural evolution in the remarkable ascent of the Geely Galaxy brand, which began as a sub-series in February 2023 before officially becoming a standalone entity. In the first four months of 2025 alone, the brand recorded a staggering 356,341 units sold, representing an impressive 595 percent increase compared to the same period last year. In April alone, Geely Galaxy delivered over 96,000 vehicles, a clear indicator of accelerating demand across the Chinese market, where it now ranks second only to BYD.

This commercial momentum underscores Geely’s growing ambitions to strengthen its regional and global footprint. During the first quarter of the year, the brand secured third place globally in battery electric vehicle (BEV) sales, capturing a 6.9 percent market share according to research firm TrendForce. These figures reflect Geely’s emergence as a key player in the global smart mobility space, driven by its commitment to innovation and agility in adapting to evolving market dynamics.

Geely M9: Luxury Meets Value in Lineup and Pricing

Positioned as the latest addition to Geely’s prestigious 9 Series lineup, the new Galaxy M9 SUV joins other full size premium models like the Lynk & Co 900 and Zeekr 9X. These vehicles represent the brand’s upper echelon in terms of luxury, space, and smart mobility. In the Chinese market, the Lynk & Co 900 is currently priced from 309,900 yuan (158,036 AED), while the competing Chery S09 starts at 239,900 yuan (122,339 AED). This pricing spectrum provides a solid benchmark for what Geely might target when introducing the M9.

Reservations for the Galaxy M9 are expected to open during the second half of the year, ahead of a phased rollout in selected global markets. With its modern exterior, intelligent features, and family focused six seat cabin, the M9 is well positioned to attract buyers seeking a premium electric SUV. In a region that values a blend of luxury, advanced tech, and practicality, the M9 could become one of the most compelling three row EV options of 2025.
