Exceptional Performance in the Taklimakan Rally

The V6 Cannon competed in the T2.1 class for production vehicles with fuel engines, a category that requires cars to remain close to factory specifications with minimal modifications. The rally covered nearly 4,500 kilometers over 13 days, featuring a variety of terrains including desert, gravel, and rocks, providing a tough test for the vehicle’s capabilities.

The V6 Cannon benefited from its short wheelbase and lightweight design, in addition to its powerful engine, to efficiently tackle challenging sections. Driven by veteran driver Zhang Ya and co-driver Bai Yao, both with extensive off-road racing experience, the team skillfully managed the vehicle through complex terrain, demonstrating consistent performance and endurance.

Powerful Engine and Advanced Technologies

The V6 Cannon is powered by a 3.0-liter twin-turbo V6 engine, delivering a maximum output of 354 hp (260 kW) and 500 Nm of torque, paired with a 9-speed automatic transmission. The cooling system is equipped with an advanced electronic fan from BorgWarner to ensure stable temperatures during demanding driving at high RPMs (around 4,000 rpm).

The wheelbase measures 2,745 mm, and the vehicle’s curb weight is 2,285 kg, providing excellent stability on uneven roads. It is also equipped with eight-stage adjustable shock absorbers, front and rear electronic differential locks, and multiple off-road driving modes to enhance grip in harsh conditions.

Advanced Safety and Assistance Systems

For safety, the vehicle features reinforced underbody protection and steel components, along with an upgraded braking system supported by an electronic booster. The 360-degree panoramic camera and chassis view system provide excellent obstacle detection and terrain assessment, enhancing safety during off-road driving.

Rally Results and Implications

During the Taklimakan Rally, the V6 Cannon took first place in six special stages (SS1, SS2, SS3, SS7, SS8, SS10), highlighting its ability to maintain high performance within factory specifications. This achievement positions it strongly against competitors in the T2 class and showcases the robustness of Chinese engineering under extreme conditions.

Price and Specifications: Competitive Value

The V6 Cannon starts at 258,000 Chinese yuan, which is approximately $36,000 USD or around 132,000 AED. Higher-spec versions are expected to be offered at higher prices, providing customers with a range of options to suit their needs. The company has opened "blind" pre-orders (without a specific delivery date), allowing early customers to reserve their vehicles ahead of the official launch.
