Nissan Ariya has just crossed the equator in Quito, Ecuador, and is on its way to Antarctica. The couple, Chris and Julie Ramsey, has already traveled over 20,000 kilometers on this magnificent journey from the Arctic to the Antarctic.

Modifications to Nissan Ariya

Nissan Ariya successfully crosses the equator amidst doubts about long-distance driving in electric vehicles, heading to Antarctica.

In past time, the couple successfully traversed North and Central America, witnessing the Formula E race in Portland. To tackle various road conditions, the Ariya was modified with a raised suspension, larger wheels, and wider wheel arches, along with a drone mounted on the roof.

In the United States, the starting price of the Nissan Ariya is $43,190. With an 87 kWh battery, the electric vehicle can travel up to 489 km on a single charge. It is also available with the AWD e-4ORCE system to handle challenging terrains.

The goal is to reach the final destination in Antarctica by the end of the year. Additionally, the couple hopes to accelerate the adoption of electric vehicles to address the climate crisis.

Chris stated, “We have contributed to understanding the limits of electric vehicles and demonstrated their capability and allure to the world. Our expedition in the Nissan Ariya has performed exceptionally well, and it has not let us down, garnering significant interest from people along the way.”
