Recently, Tesla announced its seventh recall involving 694,304 vehicles due to non-compliance with federal automobile safety standards. This recall is primarily linked to the tire pressure monitoring system's warning light, which fails to stay illuminated, potentially posing a safety hazard.

According to government officials, this system is designed to alert drivers when tire pressure is low, but the current malfunction prevents the warning from persisting, which may increase the risk of accidents.

Tesla discovered the issue during compliance tests in November and promptly initiated an investigation, ultimately determining that it stemmed from a faulty software update.

This update inadvertently reset the warning feature of the tire pressure monitoring system, especially when the vehicle is started or comes out of rest mode. The recall affects the 2024 Tesla Cybertruck, along with Model 3 vehicles produced between 2017 and 2025, and Model Y vehicles manufactured from 2020 to 2025.

Tesla recorded only one instance of the issue and 76 warranty claims, fortunately with no injuries or accidents reported. The company anticipates resolving the issue through over-the-air updates and plans to send notification letters to owners in mid-February.

Although this recall is relatively minor, it marks the seventh recall for the Cybertruck this year, with previous recalls addressing various issues such as loss of power, delayed rearview camera, stuck accelerator pedal, and loose assembly components.

Despite Tesla's initial projection of selling 250,000 units of the Cybertruck annually, demand in the U.S. market has significantly decreased. After approximately 40,000 units were sold, the backlog of orders in the United States was cleared, and Tesla has since shifted its focus to the Canadian market to boost sales.
