The German automotive giant Mercedes has officially launched the 2025 G-Class facelift, introducing several aesthetic and technological updates along with new hybrid systems. This update marks a significant milestone, arriving after 45 years without any major changes to this luxury SUV.
Performance of the 2025 Mercedes G-Class
Let's start with the base G550 model, which has replaced the 8-cylinder engine with a new 3.0-liter turbocharged inline-6 hybrid engine. This change boosts the total output to 450 horsepower and torque to 560 Nm, compared to the previous figures of 422 horsepower and 610 Nm.

The new AMG G63 variant is equipped with a 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 hybrid engine, delivering a remarkable 585 horsepower and 850 Nm of torque, maintaining the same figures as the previous model. This allows the muscular SUV to accelerate from 0 to 97 km/h in just 4.2 seconds.

One of the major updates to the exterior is the addition of a touch feature for the 12.3-inch infotainment screen. The vehicle also comes with a wireless phone charger and luxurious 11.6-inch touch screens for rear passengers. Additionally, it introduces a "transparent hood" feature, borrowed from the EQE and GLC models, allowing drivers to see the ground through the front of the vehicle with the help of a new 360-degree camera.
Safety in the 2025 Mercedes G-Class
The vehicle is equipped with a comprehensive suite of safety systems and driver assistance features, including adaptive cruise control, blind-spot monitoring, traffic sign recognition, automatic emergency braking, and more. Aesthetic modifications are relatively limited, focusing mainly on the front grille and bumpers. Mercedes has also announced a significantly expanded customization program for customers, offering new accessories. Pricing details will be revealed later. Source: Mercedes
