- Youthful Styling with a Classic Touch
- Larger Dimensions and Upgraded Electric Performance
- Competitive Price and Steady Sales Growth
SGMW, the joint venture between SAIC Motor, General Motors, and Wuling, has officially unveiled the Wuling Bingo S EV. This latest model marks the third entry in the Bingo lineup and is expected to heat up the competition in the compact electric vehicle segment during the second half of the year. Positioned above the Bingo Plus, the new Bingo S comes with a more advanced design and upgraded features, placing it in direct competition with established models like the BYD Dolphin and Geely Geometry Xingyuan.
Youthful Styling with a Classic Touch
The Wuling Bingo S carries forward the distinctive design language of the Bingo series while adding a more refined and contemporary flair. Its overall silhouette is smooth and rounded, featuring retro inspired triangular headlights and a trapezoidal front grille accented with silver trim, giving the car a bold and attractive front profile. At the rear, full width taillights enhance the modern and cohesive appearance.
From the side, the design reflects a dynamic and stylish personality, highlighted by a two tone body paint and blacked out A, B, and C pillars that create a sportier contrast. Traditional door handles have been retained for practicality and ease of use. Both fast and slow charging ports are conveniently located on the front left fender for easy access in public charging scenarios. The 16 inch five spoke alloy wheels complete the youthful look with a design that appeals to style conscious drivers.
Larger Dimensions and Upgraded Electric Performance
According to official data released by China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology on June 20, the Bingo S has received its sales license. The car is built on a 2610 mm wheelbase and measures 4265 mm in length, 1785 mm in width, and 1600 mm in height, with a curb weight of 1325 kg. Compared to the Bingo Plus, the new model offers larger overall dimensions, which translates into improved cabin space and a more comfortable interior, all while maintaining the same wheelbase.
Powering the Bingo S is an electric motor coded TZ180XS275, delivering a maximum output of 75 kW (equivalent to 101 hp). The motor is paired with a lithium iron phosphate battery pack. The top speed is rated at 150 km/h, though the battery capacity and official driving range have yet to be disclosed.
Competitive Price and Steady Sales Growth
The Wuling Bingo S is expected to launch in the Chinese market in the coming months with a starting price of 80,000 yuan (11,100 USD - 40,967 AED), reaching up to 100,000 yuan (around 13,900 USD - 51,209 AED). This positions it as a strong contender in the budget friendly EV segment. For comparison, the existing Wuling Bingo Plus starts at 75,800 yuan (38,816 AED).
The Bingo lineup has already established a strong foothold in the market, recording impressive commercial performance with 236,574 units sold in 2024 alone, marking a 41 percent year on year growth. In May alone, the series achieved 17,891 units in sales. The Bingo S is expected to build on this momentum, especially as it prepares to go head to head with top selling models like the BYD Dolphin and the Geely Geome Xingyuan, the current best seller in China.
With this new release, Wuling continues to strengthen its presence in the EV space by offering a practical, modern, and stylish vehicle at a highly competitive price point, making it an ideal choice for those ready to enter the world of electric mobility with confidence.
