Denza, BYD's premium automobile brand, has officially revealed the interior of its highly anticipated N8L SUV. Scheduled for pre-sales starting September 26, the N8L aims to compete in the six-seater full-size SUV segment with innovative features and luxurious offerings targeting discerning buyers. Denza Auto General Manager Li Hui unveiled the news through social media, sharing detailed imagery of the vehicle.

Interior Design and Comfort

The Denza N8L offers a thoughtful 2+2+2 seating arrangement, emphasizing premium comfort in its front and middle row seats. Adjustable configurations in the middle row include individual armrests and optional leg rests, enhancing passenger convenience during long journeys. While the third row seats may provide slightly less space, they come equipped with heating functions to improve comfort. Features such as rear cabin management via an innovative control screen, manual sunshades, and a built-in refrigerator distinguish the N8L from its competitors. Notably, the front passenger seat includes a “zero-gravity” mechanism reminiscent of the Denza N9, adding a unique relaxation feature.

The dashboard adopts a symmetrical style, incorporating advanced technology aspects. Key highlights include a fully digital instrument cluster, an entertainment screen for passengers, and a generously sized floating central display. The steering wheel sports a modern dual-spoke design, complemented by a gear selector positioned on the steering column. Practical touches such as wireless charging pads, concealed cup holders, and ample storage compartments further enhance everyday usability.

Exterior Styling

The Denza N8L’s exterior design closely follows BYD’s established family design principles. Daytime running lights adopt a vertical parallel configuration, paired with a trapezoidal grille featuring active air intake. Hidden door handles and blacked-out B, C, and D pillars accentuate the floating roof aesthetic, adding a dynamic appeal to its side profile. Rear taillight clusters integrate trapezoidal motifs, ensuring a cohesive visual identity throughout. Regulatory filings hint at customization options, including two-tone paint styles, black semi-enclosed wheels, and distinctive brake caliper colors.

Dimensions and Variations

The SUV measures 5,200 mm in length, 1,999 mm in width, and 1,820 mm in height, offering substantial interior room and road presence. A variant featuring BYD's “Lingyuan” drone system sees the overall height increase to 1,990 mm without altering other dimensions. The N8L’s 3,075 mm wheelbase contributes to its spacious layout.

Plug-In Hybrid Powertrain

Under the hood, the Denza N8L sports a cutting-edge plug-in hybrid system. The 2.0-liter turbocharged engine generates 152 kW, supplemented by three electric motors for unmatched performance. The front motor achieves 200 kW, accompanied by twin rear motors offering up to 240 kW each. Energy storage is handled by a 46.99 kWh lithium iron phosphate battery, delivering a pure-electric range of 170 km for the standard model and 160 km for the drone-equipped version. These figures are certified for real-world use.

Market Position and Expected Pricing

Denza positions the N8L to rival similar offerings in the premium SUV market, such as the Li Auto L8, Aito M8 Extended Range, and Wey Lanshan. Initial pricing speculation places the vehicle between 350,000 and 400,000 yuan (approximately 49,200 to 56,200 USD).

As pre-sales approach, the N8L appears poised to attract significant interest, blending advanced innovation with practical luxury for families and professionals alike.
