2024 Changan Deepal SL03 in-depth Walkaround The 2024 all-electric version of the Deepal SL03 sedan is a mid-size vehicle produced by Deepal, the electric vehicle subsidiary of the Chinese automotive company Changan Automobile. Body and Chassis The Deepal SL03 is classified as a mid-size car (Class D) and features a 5-door liftback body style. It has a rear-motor, rear-wheel-drive layout for the EV version and a front-engine, rear-motor, rear-wheel-drive layout for the EREV version. Built on the Changan EPA1 platform, it is related to the Changan Nevo A07 and Mazda EZ-6. Powertrain The vehicle offers a petrol range extender with a 1.5 L JL473QJ I4 engine. The electric motor options include the XTDM33 and JL469Q1 AC induction/asynchronous, permanent magnet motors. It also offers Lithium Ternary (NMC) batteries with a 79.97 kWh capacity for an EV range of 705 km. The EREV version has a 28.39 kWh battery for a 200 km electric range, while the FCEV version has an 18.99 kWh battery for a 135 km electric range. The electric range varies from 515 to 1,200 km (320.0 to 745.6 mi) according to NEDC standards. Dimensions The Deepal SL03 has a wheelbase of 2,900 mm (114.2 in), a length of 4,820 mm (189.8 in), a width of 1,890 mm (74.4 in), and a height of 1,480 mm (58.3 in).
