Aion S Max in-depth Walkaround The GAC Aion S Max sedan, featuring 245 horsepower, starts at 20,500 USD. Aion, a New Energy Vehicle (NEV) brand under GAC New Energy, was first introduced at the 2018 Guangzhou Auto Show. The GAC Aion S sedan debuted in 2019 as the brand’s second model and has been regularly updated in China. In 2021, the Aion S Plus sedan was launched in the Chinese market, and both the Aion S and S Plus models were sold concurrently. By 2023, the Aion S series had achieved cumulative sales of 182,230 units. The Aion S Max sedan has now replaced the Aion S Plus. The Aion S Max sedan measures 4,863 mm in length, 1,890 mm in width, and 1,515 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,760 mm. Compared to its predecessor, it is 53 mm longer and 10 mm wider, with a wheelbase that is also 10 mm longer. The interior features a reworked center console with smaller air intakes, a center tunnel with two wireless charging pads, and a hidden compartment. The gear selector is positioned behind the steering wheel. The Aion S Max is available in five trim levels. The first four trims come with a 204-horsepower electric motor on the front axle, enabling the sedan to accelerate to 100 km/h in 7.5 seconds. The top-trim Aion S Max boasts a 245-horsepower electric motor, achieving zero-to-hundred acceleration in 6.8 seconds.
