There could be several reasons why the fuel consumption of a Mazda6 (马六) is high: 1. Driving Habits: Aggressive driving, such as rapid acceleration and hard braking, can significantly increase fuel consumption. 2. Maintenance Issues: Poor maintenance, like dirty air filters, old spark plugs, or low tire pressure, can affect fuel efficiency. 3. Engine Problems: Issues with the engine, such as fuel injector problems or a malfunctioning oxygen sensor, can lead to higher fuel usage. 4. Load and Terrain: Carrying heavy loads or driving in hilly or mountainous areas can also increase fuel consumption. 5. Traffic Conditions: Frequent stop-and-go traffic or idling for long periods can contribute to higher fuel usage. It's advisable to have the vehicle checked by a professional mechanic to identify and resolve any specific issues.

The 2006 and 2007 Mazda Coupe 6 2.3 uses the naturally aspirated engine from the Mondeo, which is known for being relatively fuel-consuming, but it's durable. In city short-distance driving, fuel consumption is the highest. I've tested it and reached 15 liters per 100 kilometers. I've seen others on forums reporting even higher, up to 16 liters per 100 kilometers.

Where you drive and how you use the car can greatly affect fuel consumption. If you're just using it for short trips, like two or three kilometers before turning it off, any car will consume more fuel. The engine doesn't reach its optimal working temperature, so the computer injects more fuel. If you're using it for long distances and it's still consuming too much fuel, then there might be an issue with the engine. You'll need to check the oxygen sensor, intake pressure sensor, throttle, and fuel injectors.

I've been driving a Suzuki SX4 for over ten years, and now the fuel consumption is higher than before. When I press the accelerator, the RPM goes up, but the speed doesn't increase. I've changed the transmission oil, cleared the engine carbon deposits, and worked on the throttle and fuel injectors, but the RPM is still high while acceleration is slow. Are there any fellow car owners who have experienced similar issues?
