Have you noticed that the low beams have a very short range? On roads without streetlights, when the automatic high beams are turned on, they turn off as soon as there's an oncoming car, and the low beams make it hard to see the road just 3 meters ahead.

However, when I switch to the high beams, the dashboard keeps showing a "high beam fault," whereas there is no fault reported for the low beams.
