Is it worth buying a lifetime warranty from Volkswagen, which covers everything except the three main components?

I've already bought it and spent over 200,000, so I don't mind spending an extra ten thousand or so.

Based on my personal situation, I plan to drive it for 6 years before replacing it and don't intend to buy an additional one.

If the owner mainly focuses on the core components of the vehicle and can strictly adhere to the warranty terms, a lifetime warranty might hold some value. However, for most owners, the actual usage probability of a lifetime warranty is quite low, and due to numerous additional conditions, it might not be cost-effective.

For a 2013 used Mitsubishi ASX 2.0 manual, it's said that the main components are imported. After purchase, aside from consumables like engine oil and brake parts, would other repairs be particularly expensive? Or should I just use aftermarket parts? I've driven company cars with 1.3L, 1.6L, 2.4L engines, front-wheel drive, rear-wheel drive, and manual transmissions.

How is the warranty on the three electric components? What about for used ones?

The co-driver's window of the Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross can only go up but not down, and the main driver's switch can control the other three windows except the co-driver's, which can only go up but not down. The co-driver's switch also only allows the window to go up but not down. What could be the reason for this?

I just got a 2013 model with a 1.6 manual transmission. Everything else is fine except there's a loud buzzing vibration sound around 2000 RPM in every gear. Before or after hitting 2000 RPM, it's normal again. Has anyone else experienced this? How can it be fixed? Any advice from the experts would be appreciated.

Hi everyone, the electronic steering lock of my Chery Jetour X70 is broken and needs to be replaced. The 4S shop said it's no longer under warranty, so I have to replace it myself. It seems to cost several thousand. Does anyone know if the 10-year or 200,000 km warranty indicated by the lifetime warranty badge on Jetour still covers it? The steering system is an important part of the car. The car was registered in August 2020, so it's been almost four years. Does anyone know if this is still under warranty? Please help.

Has anyone purchased the extended warranty package from the manufacturer? It costs 2200 and includes 2 synthetic oil changes and air filter replacements, with a 5-year extended warranty for the whole vehicle. Is it worth it?

I bought the 2025 Passat 380 Star Edition, and since we already have a 2024 330 Elite model at home, I was able to directly compare the two. The main differences come down to a few added features — like extra millimeter-wave radars, one additional camera, and three more ultrasonic sensors. Most of the other specs are nearly identical. The biggest improvement I noticed is in the adaptive cruise control, which is now more responsive and accurate. The rear parking sensors also trigger more easily. Fuel consumption is actually quite good: on highways and elevated roads, it averages around 7.1 L/100 km — nearly the same as the 330 (which ranges between 6.8 to 7.2 L). As for space, it's one of the main reasons I chose this car. We’ve got kids in the family, and this car is mainly for weekend outings and family use. Compared to the Magotan, the Passat offers better ride comfort, and its 2.87m wheelbase ensures a roomy interior. Feature-wise, the Passat covers everything needed for daily use: side mirrors that tilt automatically when reversing, ventilated and heated seats, auto hold, adaptive cruise, and active braking. It’s all there and makes daily driving much more convenient. Now for the downsides: the infotainment system feels outdated. The screen is too small, there's no built-in navigation worth using, and no wireless phone connectivity, which is a letdown in 2025. Also, there’s still a bit of jerkiness at low speeds that hasn’t been addressed. The gear shifter is still wrapped in leather but looks pretty basic. Overall, at this price point, the Passat is still a solid choice. It doesn’t have any major flaws, and it’s a good all-around car — perfect for someone who wants a reliable, practical ride without too much fuss or flash. Not the flashiest design, but definitely a sensible and balanced option.
