My car got hit while parked in the neighborhood, and there's a dent about the size of an ID card above the right front wheel. I'm considering paintless dent repair. Has anyone done this before? How was the result?

Picked up the car less than two months ago, got rear-ended with damages estimated at 40,000. Can I make him pay for the depreciation, guys? My heart aches.
