Great Wall Motors (GWM), the Chinese automaker, has announced the launch of the all-new Haval Raptor equipped with a 2.0-liter turbocharged gasoline engine, expanding options for customers seeking powerful SUVs designed for off-road adventures. This model follows the success of the hybrid (PHEV) version of the Raptor, which gained significant popularity in the Chinese market.

Modern Design Inspired by Strength and Practicality

The Haval Raptor maintains a distinctive design identity that combines the classic boxy style typical of off-road vehicles with bold, modern touches. The new front grille features vertical elements, and the rectangular headlights draw inspiration from traditional Chinese architectural motifs, giving the vehicle a unique presence. At the rear, elongated taillights composed of 300 red LED units add a contemporary and elegant flair.

The SUV is offered in five exterior colors: green, two shades of gray, black, and white, with wheels available in 18- and 19-inch sizes depending on the trim level.

Practical Dimensions and Off-Road Capabilities

The Haval Raptor’s dimensions are carefully designed to meet off-road driving requirements, featuring a wheelbase of 2,738 mm. It offers a 25-degree approach angle and a 32-degree departure angle, with a ground clearance of 223 mm under light load conditions and a water wading depth of up to 580 mm, making it well-suited for outdoor adventures.

The towing capacity is 1,600 kg, allowing easy hauling of trailers or small boats, while the fuel tank capacity is 60 liters. The fuel consumption is relatively economical at 8.65 liters per 100 km according to the WLTC standard.

Powerful Performance with 2.0 Turbo Engine and Smart Drivetrain

The new Haval Raptor version is powered by a 2.0-liter turbocharged gasoline engine producing 235 horsepower (175 kW) and a peak torque of 385 Nm, paired with a 9-speed automatic transmission (9DCT). The drivetrain includes intelligent all-wheel drive and an electronic rear differential lock, providing excellent stability and control across diverse terrains.

The SUV accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 8.1 seconds and supports nine different driving modes to suit various conditions, from daily commuting to sandy or mountainous terrain.

Modern Cabin with Advanced Technologies

The interior has received notable updates, featuring a sporty flat-bottom steering wheel, a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, and a large 14.6-inch central touchscreen supporting the latest infotainment and control systems.

The traditional gear lever has been replaced, creating more space and a cleaner design for the center console, while retaining physical control buttons and rectangular air vents. The vehicle runs on GWM’s Coffee OS 3.0 smart operating system, complemented by a premium 10-speaker Coffee AI Sound system.

Spaciousness and Smart Storage Solutions

The Haval Raptor offers a rear cargo space of 586 liters, expandable to 1,404 liters with the rear seats folded, ideal for families or outdoor enthusiasts. Additionally, it features a 2.7-liter external rear storage box and adjustable cup holders both front and rear to accommodate various sizes.
