BYD has unveiled three new electric vehicles through its sub-brand Fang Cheng Bao, including the Speedster Super 9 prototype designed by chief designer Wolfgang Egger. The Fang Cheng Bao brand focuses on electric SUVs.
The Speedster Super 9 is a two-seater electric sports car with a sleek appearance and gullwing doors. It is expected to be a fully electric vehicle, unlike the hybrid Bao 5. Its production version will be named Bao 9. The rear of the Super 9 features dual taillights shaped like the Fang Cheng Bao logo and a bridge-like rear wing.
The car is designed with a two-seat cockpit and seats made from carbon fiber. The steering wheel resembles that of a racing car or spacecraft, and the buttons on the center console are distinctive.
The rear of the Super 9 is again equipped with dual taillights and a bridge-like rear wing. On the side of the car, the number 30 can be seen, marking the 30th anniversary of BYD's establishment.
The Fang Cheng Bao Super 9 will make its public debut next week at the 18th Beijing International Automotive Exhibition.
