Recently, Mercedes-Benz announced a significant breakthrough in a new all-solid-state battery technology developed in partnership with US company Factorial, which is expected to increase the range of electric vehicles by 80 per cent.
Previously, Factorial has raised $200 million in funding from investors including Mercedes-Benz, Stellantis and Hyundai.
Factorial reportedly delivered all-solid-state batteries based on the FEST platform to Mercedes-Benz this summer, and on Tuesday unveiled its latest breakthrough product, Solstice.
This new all-solid-state battery was co-developed with Mercedes, and is designed to power Mercedes' next-generation models Power.
Featuring an energy density of 450Wh/kg, Factorial's new all-solid-state battery is targeted to provide more than 600 miles (nearly 1,000km) of driving range for future electric vehicles, and the new all-solid-state battery is expected to be in production by 2030.
