The company has officially announced the start of preorders for its latest release, the Seal 06 EV, which is expected to debut officially in the coming weeks. The announcement was made from the brand’s booth at the 2025 Shenzhen Auto Show, one of the major events in the Guangdong Greater Bay Area. There, BYD unveiled the new model that blends modern design with competitive pricing, aiming to attract a broader audience seeking a stylish and high performing mid size electric sedan.

The Seal 06 EV adopts the modern design language that defines the Seal family within BYD's lineup, combining sleek lines with bold, sporty accents. Its well balanced dimensions are tailored for daily use, measuring 4,720 mm in length, 1,880 mm in width, and 1,495 mm in height, with a 2,820 mm wheelbase. These proportions translate into a spacious cabin that offers passengers enhanced comfort and stability during everyday drives.
BYD offers the model with two electric motor options. The first delivers 110 kW, enabling a top speed of 160 kilometers per hour. The second, more powerful version offers 160 kW and pushes the sedan to a top speed of 180 kilometers per hour. Both variants feature a single motor, front wheel drive layout that optimizes energy efficiency while ensuring smooth, quiet performance across different driving conditions.

As the official launch of the Seal 06 EV approaches, BYD’s Seal family continues its rapid expansion as part of the company’s broader strategy to strengthen its position in the electric vehicle market. The current lineup includes a range of models such as the Seal 05 DM-i, Seal 07 DM-i, and Seal 06 GT, covering various performance levels and equipment options. Prices start at 79,800 yuan and reach up to 239,800 yuan, which translates to approximately 11,100 to 33,300 USD (40,939 to 123,024 AED), offering customers a wide selection tailored to diverse needs and budgets.
In April, BYD reported strong performance with a total of 380,089 new energy vehicles (NEVs) sold, marking a year over year growth of 21.34 percent. The Seal lineup alone accounted for 26,051 units during the same month, a remarkable 82.57 percent increase compared to the previous year. However, this figure represented a 41.54 percent decline from March sales, possibly due to consumers holding off in anticipation of newly announced models.
