The 2025 Chery Tiggo 9 has made a strong entrance into the UAE market, positioning itself as a serious contender in the mid-size SUV segment. This model is designed to appeal to families and individuals seeking a blend of style, practicality, advanced technology, and value for money.

Exterior Design

The Tiggo 9 stands out with its modern, upscale appearance. Its prominent diamond-pattern grille, sleek LED headlights, and streamlined profile give it a confident road presence. Measuring 4,820 mm in length, 1,930 mm in width, and 1,710 mm in height, with a 2,820 mm wheelbase, the Tiggo 9 is larger than its Tiggo 8 sibling, offering more space and visual impact.

Interior and Comfort

Inside, the Tiggo 9 impresses with a spacious three-row cabin that seats up to seven passengers. The interior features high-quality materials, including leatherette and aluminum trim, with thoughtful touches like a panoramic sunroof and customizable ambient lighting. The rear seats are auto-folding, allowing for a flat loading space and generous cargo area.

Comfort is further enhanced by a well-tuned suspension (MacPherson struts up front, multi-link rear), which absorbs road imperfections effectively-even on higher trims with 19- or 20-inch wheels. Road and wind noise are well-controlled, making long journeys pleasant for all occupants.

Technology and Features

The Tiggo 9 is packed with advanced technology. It features a dual-screen setup: a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and a 15.6-inch central infotainment display, both powered by a fast Qualcomm Snapdragon 8155 chip. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard, and the infotainment system supports smartphone integration for seamless connectivity.

Other notable features include a panoramic sunroof, tri-zone climate control (on Premium trim), a 14-speaker Sony audio system, and a phone alert if you leave your device on the wireless charger. Drive modes include Eco, Normal, Sport, Snow, Sand, and Off-Road, catering to various driving conditions.

Performance

Under the hood, the Tiggo 9 offers a robust 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine producing 257 hp and 400 Nm of torque, mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission and available all-wheel drive. This setup provides ample power for city driving, highway cruising, and overtaking, while the light, responsive steering makes maneuvering easy despite the SUV’s size.

For some markets, a 1.5-liter engine is also available, and a plug-in hybrid (PHEV) variant with a combined range of up to 1,400 km is offered in China, but the 2.0T remains the primary option in the UAE.

It comes equipped with up to 10 airbags (7 standard), Level 2 advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS), adaptive cruise control, lane keep assist, lane departure warning, front collision alert, auto-braking, and a 360-degree camera system. Park assist and other high-end safety features are included in the top trims.

Value and Verdict

With a starting price of AED 119,900 for the Comfort trim and AED 139,900 for the fully loaded Premium trim, the Chery Tiggo 9 offers excellent value for a 7-seater SUV packed with features, technology, and safety. Its spacious interior, thoughtful design, and competitive pricing make it a compelling choice for families and anyone seeking a versatile, modern SUV in the UAE.
