Ram has released early images of the prototype testing for its Heavy Duty vehicles without camouflage to ensure that its cooling systems are functioning optimally. More information is expected later this year, but Ram CEO Chris Feuell previously confirmed the presence of an 'optimized' Cummins engine.

The testing of the 2025 Ram Heavy Duty lineup is entering its final phase, meaning prototype trucks will soon be seen on public roads. This has prompted the company to provide an early look at the revamped pickup truck. The images reveal that both the 2500 and 3500 will adopt a new front fascia with a revised grille surrounded by split lighting units. A new Ram hood, along with updated mirrors and taillights, can also be seen. Additional changes are limited, but it seems a revised third brake light will be available, potentially incorporating some new cameras or sensors.

While Ram has not announced much about the Heavy Duty lineup, CEO Chris Feuell previously revealed that the truck will integrate the latest technology from the updated Ram 1500. This suggests the model could feature an upgraded 12-inch infotainment system and a newly available 14.5-inch display.

The trucks may also come with a dual wireless charger for smartphones and a newly available 10.25-inch front display for passengers. A hands-free driving assist feature could also be added. Most interestingly, Feuell previously emphasized an 'improved powertrain, thanks to Cummins engines.' The current model comes equipped with a 6.7-liter six-cylinder turbo diesel Cummins engine that produces 370 horsepower and 1151 Nm of torque. A higher-output version offers 420 horsepower and 1456 Nm of torque.

Rumors suggest that the diesel lineup could be streamlined to include a single engine option paired with a new 8-speed automatic transmission.
