Ford has revealed a more powerful and larger version of the Ford Ranger, a move that may seem puzzling to some, because while Ford's F-150 is designed for those seeking a large truck for tough tasks outside urban areas, its size can be challenging in tight city streets, where the smaller Ford Ranger excels. However, Ranger enthusiasts have demanded a stronger version inspired by the F-series, like the Raptor, for tough tasks while being smaller and more practical than the F-series.
Stronger Appearance
The moment you look at it, you notice the exterior modifications. The front features a stronger steel lower bumper with a sturdier skid plate to protect the lower mechanical parts, mounting points for driving lights, and more room for tires. The Super Duty comes with a reinforced plastic grille and "Super Duty" engraved on the hood above it. On the sides, you'll see massive 33-inch-wide tires suitable for all terrains (with wider track), complemented by square wheel arches that contrast with standard round ones.
Focusing on the grille reveals its functional role beyond aesthetics; it improves airflow to the radiator with larger openings. Key modifications include a snorkel for crossing rivers or dealing with dust off-road. Larger mirrors address increased towing capacity that may obscure the internal rear-view mirror.
The new gross weight of the Ranger Super Duty is about 4,500 kg (9,921 lbs), compared to the standard Ranger's maximum weight of around 3,080 kg (6,790 lbs), marking a significant weight increase.

Inside remains mostly unchanged but includes certain enhancements to reinforce its identity as a durable truck for tough jobs. "Super Duty" is etched above the glovebox on the dashboard. It features a standard 12-inch screen and additional upper console buttons for workday accessories.
Despite being heavy-duty-oriented, the 2026 Ranger Super Duty includes driver assistance systems like front and rear parking sensors, 360-degree camera coverage including trailers, blind-spot monitoring (covering also the towed vehicles), forward collision warning, emergency braking, and much more.
The Ford Ranger Super Duty retains its core strength: practicality both in cities and beyond. It's well-equipped for farms or businesses transporting goods or construction materials and ideal for adventures.
