XPENG, the Chinese electric vehicle manufacturer, has signed a distribution agreement with Ebrahim K. Kanoo Group, the largest automotive group in Bahrain. This agreement marks XPENG official entry into the Bahraini market, supporting its ambition to expand throughout the Gulf region.

XPENG is renowned for its luxurious Chinese cars with futuristic designs, featuring high-quality interiors equipped with the latest in driver assistance and entertainment technology. Notable models include the XPENG G6 and XPENG G9, high-end luxury vehicles that compete on a European level and have received 5-star Euro NCAP rating.

XPENG plans to expand in the GCC market, and lately, it has signed a distribution agreement to enter Bahrain. Here are the details.

Arrival of XPENG in Bahrain

The agreement was announced last Thursday, and it is expected that XPENG will launch its SUV models, the G6 and G9, in the second half of 2025, alongside the luxury X9 MPV in Bahrain.

The company plans to leverage Kanoo's established sales and service network, which controls nearly 40% of the Bahraini car market, to deliver what it describes as a "revolutionary smart mobility experience" to local consumers.

In a statement, XPENG said: "The Gulf region is an incredibly strategic market in the Middle East with immense potential for new energy vehicles." The company reaffirmed its goal to achieve full coverage across all six GCC countries by 2025, which includes UAE, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Oman, and Bahrain.

Currently present in UAE, XPENG plans to start sales soon in Qatar during Q2 of this year.

As part of its global strategy to expand into international markets, XPENG is currently operating in more than 30 markets and aims to double this figure to reach 60 countries and regions this year. The company has set a long-term target of achieving 50% of its sales from overseas markets over the next decade.

XPENG G6

The XPENG G6 is an advanced electric SUV that represents a technological revolution in smart vehicles. It features a sleek sports coupe-inspired design with connected LED headlights. The absence of a front grille enhances the vehicle's aerodynamic profile.

Built on the intelligent SEPA 2.0 platform offering fast charging and advanced autonomous driving capabilities, it boasts an electric range of approximately 570 km, it offers a luxurious cabin with a large central screen and advanced AI systems providing drivers with a futuristic driving experience. The car targets young People and luxury enthusiasts seeking performance and efficiency paired with modern design.

The XPENG G9 is a mid-size luxury electric SUV designed for premium experiences filled with advanced technologies. It boasts elegant design lines and unique connected headlights coupled with a dynamic body that exudes power and luxury.

Featuring an ultra-high voltage electrical platform capable of supercharging up to 800 volts, it can charge 80% of its battery in less than 20 minutes.
