Since its debut in 2021, the Genesis GV60 has carved out a strong presence in the premium electric vehicle market, thanks to its standout design and cutting edge features. Now, the Korean luxury brand returns with the first facelift of this model, introducing a suite of upgrades that blend high performance, advanced technology, and refined aesthetics. This refresh highlights Genesis’s commitment to innovation and excellence in the evolving world of electric crossovers.
Drift Mode and Virtual Gear Shift Add a New Layer of Driving Thrill
One of the standout additions to the updated GV60 is the introduction of Drift Mode, delivering a sportier and more engaging driving experience. This feature can be activated by holding both paddle shifters for three seconds, sending power exclusively to the rear wheels and allowing for a controlled, exhilarating slide. It gives the driver a fresh sense of control and excitement behind the wheel.
Genesis has also introduced a Virtual Gear Shift system, which disengages regenerative braking and simulates the sensation of a traditional gearbox. This enhancement adds a dynamic, mechanical feel to acceleration, heightening driver involvement.
The braking system has received a major upgrade as well, now equipped with four piston calipers and the brand's advanced 3.0 regenerative braking technology. This system works in sync with the car’s safety features to automatically adjust braking force based on road conditions, boosting energy recovery and delivering a more balanced, efficient drive.
Enhanced Battery, Longer Range, and Ultra Fast Charging
The updated Genesis GV60 now features an upgraded 84 kWh battery, replacing the previous 77.4 kWh unit. This improvement extends the driving range to 560 kilometers in the rear wheel drive variant, making it a practical option for drivers in Saudi Arabia and the UAE who rely on their vehicles for long daily commutes. The new battery also supports ultra fast charging of up to 350 kW, allowing a charge from 10 to 80 percent in just 18 minutes, ensuring convenience and efficiency.
Although Genesis has not officially announced any changes to the powertrain lineup, the existing three variants are expected to remain: Premium, Sport, and Sport Plus. The Sport Plus model stands out with dual motors producing 483 horsepower and 700 Nm of torque, launching from 0 to 100 km/h in just four seconds. It also comes with all wheel drive and an electronic limited slip differential to enhance control and performance on various terrains.
Fresh Touches Elevate the GV60’s Elegance and Aerodynamics
On the outside, the updated GV60 receives a range of design enhancements that give it a more dynamic and aggressive character. The front fascia has been reworked with a bold three dimensional bumper design and advanced Micro Lens Array headlights that add a touch of futuristic sophistication. The grille is now straighter and sits lower than before, while the side air vents, styled like boomerang blades, lend the front end a sharper, more assertive look.
These visual changes are not just for show. They help bring the drag coefficient down to 0.28Cd, improving the vehicle’s aerodynamic efficiency at higher speeds. Genesis now offers the GV60 in up to 14 paint finishes across matte, metallic, and pearl options. Color matched elements like the rear diffuser, wheel arches, and lower trim details complete the cohesive and elegant appearance on the road.
Panoramic Digital Cabin with a Premium Infotainment Experience
Inside, the GV60 retains its contemporary cabin design while adding thoughtful upgrades that enhance spaciousness and luxury. Genesis has repositioned the 27 inch panoramic display within the dashboard to create a more open feel without changing the screen’s dimensions, making it easier to use and visually more appealing.
For an exceptional in car audio experience, the GV60 is equipped with a 17 speaker Bang & Olufsen sound system. Passengers also benefit from built in entertainment platforms like Netflix and Disney+, offering a premium ride experience during long trips or while parked.
Standard over the air updates ensure that the GV60 remains up to date with the latest software enhancements without requiring service visits. The brand’s iconic crystal sphere remains in place on the center console, elegantly transforming into the gear selector when the car powers on, reinforcing Genesis’s commitment to design innovation.
