At the recently concluded Paris Motor Show, the Hongqi automotive brand made its debut with the production version of the Guoya. This car was first unveiled at the Beijing Motor Show earlier this year in April, but it remains unclear whether this Paris display indicates that the car will be sold in Europe.

The Guoya retains most of the chrome details previously showcased, reflecting Hongqi's contemporary design language, which incorporates rounded elements alongside a large grille. Chrome is also used to highlight the window line. The C-pillar is notably large and thick, extending toward the trunk. Perhaps the most striking element in the design is the multi-faceted wheels resembling a sunflower.

Another highly noticeable feature is the detailing around the taillight groups, designed to mimic Chinese lanterns. Instead of a ducktail, the trunk resembles more of a duck's beak. The design of the Guoya is based on the design language of the concept car L.

Originally known as L1, it was later renamed Guoya, which means elegance. This car is part of the more expensive Sunflower series by Hongqi. It not only features the traditional red flag on the hood but also has a retractable wing element at the front, similar to that of Rolls Royce.

The headlights utilize Digital Light Processing (DLP) technology to enhance road illumination. The dimensions of the vehicle are 5353mm in length, 1998mm in width, and 1511mm in height, with a wheelbase of 3260mm, marking it as a large sedan. Buyers can choose between 19 or 20-inch wheels.

Previously, the car was shown in a two-tone paint, but in Paris, it was presented in solid metallic green. The luxurious interior is filled with leather, wood, and chrome. It features a large digital instrument panel and an infotainment screen. The steering wheel showcases the Hongqi sunflower emblem. The sedan will be available in four and five-seat versions, and includes a head-up display with voice and gesture control for vehicle functions. There are two engine options, both of which are hybrids. The lower-power version uses a 3.0-liter CA6GV30TD-30 engine, which can deliver up to 290kW of power and comes with 19-inch wheels. The higher-end models utilize a CA8GV40TD-01 engine, a 4.0-liter unit with 360kW of power.

Currently, no further details have been disclosed regarding the hybrid system other than that the car uses NCM batteries. Prices have yet to be announced, and sales are likely to commence sometime in the first half of 2025.
