Cars – In the near future, Lotus may introduce a wagon version of the Emeya, which will serve as the main competitor to the Porsche Taycan. The Lotus Emeya wagon could compete with the Taycan Sport Turismo models.

The Lotus Emeya wagon version may emerge as a competitor in the electric vehicle market, particularly against the Porsche Taycan.

Lotus design chief Ben Payne was asked about the potential existence of an Emeya wagon but did not confirm that such a vehicle is in Lotus's plans. However, his comments suggested the importance of wagons and the existing demand for them in certain markets.

Payne stated, “Let’s just say I know a lot of creators who are fond of these types of cars.” He added, “The design team is always looking for the next opportunity and how we can do something a little different to gain more chances. But is this in our product plan? I can’t comment on that.”

These remarks relate to comments from Mike Johnston, head of Lotus Commercial, regarding their desire to adapt to the constantly changing market demands. The Lotus Emeya wagon could still appear if there is sufficient demand for this model.

If this version is actually released, it could compete with the Taycan Turbo S Sport Turismo. The Emeya could deliver a total power of 905 horsepower, an increase of 154 horsepower over the Taycan’s 751 horsepower. Porsche plans to introduce a facelifted version of the Taycan.

Lotus stated that the Emeya accelerates to 100 km/h in 2.8 seconds, thanks to its all-wheel drive system. There aren’t many competitors in the electric performance car segment, so the battle between Lotus and Porsche could remain between the two brands if the Emeya wagon becomes a reality.
