The next-generation Lexus LFA, tentatively named LFA I, is on its way, promising an exhilarating blend of power and precision.
The new model will be built on Toyota’s TNGA GA-L platform, utilizing a mix of aluminum alloys and carbon fiber to enhance rigidity and handling. Unlike its predecessor, which featured a full carbon fiber chassis, the LFA I will take a different structural approach.
When it comes to performance, Toyota remains firm in its stance against fully electric vehicles (BEVs). As a result, the new LFA will not follow the BEV concept revealed in the U.S. in 2022. Instead, it will retain a fuel-powered engine, paired with a plug-in hybrid (PHEV) system.
Under the hood, the gasoline engine alone delivers an impressive 720 horsepower, with the hybrid system pushing the total output to a staggering 912 horsepower. Notably, despite its immense power, the LFA I will feature a rear-wheel-drive (FR) layout instead of an all-wheel-drive system, making driver skill a crucial part of the experience.
Pricing is expected to start at around $197,000 in Japan, with deliveries scheduled to begin in the fall of 2025.
