After facing a financial crisis last year, Nissan is actively cutting costs and has announced a major restructuring plan aimed at saving 400 billion yen next year. As part of this strategy, the company has previewed several exciting new models, including the X-Trail PHEV, the next-generation Leaf, the March successor, and most notably, the new-generation Elgrand flagship MPV, which is set to debut next year.

According to Nissan’s latest announcements, the X-Trail PHEV and X-Trail e-Power are among the upcoming releases. The X-Trail e-Power, expected to be a sibling to the Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV, shares a similar headlight design and is set to be unveiled this year.
This new model will feature Nissan’s third-generation e-Power system, a redesigned headlamp setup, and a 1.5-liter turbo engine with a 20% improvement in fuel efficiency. It is expected to launch in 2026.

In the fully electric segment, Nissan is introducing the next-generation Leaf this year. Moving away from its traditional hatchback design, the new model will take the form of a crossover wagon, adopting styling cues from the Serena. With a roomier cabin and improved driving range, it promises to offer greater comfort and efficiency.
Meanwhile, Nissan is also preparing to launch a successor to the iconic March. Designed by Nissan and built by Renault, this new model will be a twin to the Renault 5 electric minivan, featuring distinctive circular headlights. The March successor is scheduled to debut in 2026.

One of the most exciting reveals in Nissan’s teaser is a large MPV silhouette, widely believed to be the long-awaited next-generation Elgrand. Designed to compete directly with the Toyota Alphard, the new Elgrand will incorporate elements from the Hyperstar concept car, featuring a futuristic design, the latest-generation e-Power system, and Nissan’s e-4ORCE all-wheel-drive technology.

Inside, the Elgrand will boast a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, with a choice of either a 9-inch or 12.3-inch center display. It will also support Amazon Alexa for an enhanced smart driving experience. The cabin is expected to be more spacious, offering three-row seating in both 7-seat and 8-seat configurations. Nissan is even considering an ultra-luxurious 4-seat version.
