The new seven-seater SUV concept is set to make its debut at the 2024 Philippine International Motor Show, showcasing a three-row seating design.

Mitsubishi has surprised everyone with its promotional campaign for a new seven-seater SUV concept, which is scheduled to debut at the 2024 Philippine International Motor Show on October 24.

The new seven-seater SUV concept is set to make its debut at the 2024 Philippine International Motor Show, showcasing a three-row seating design.

While the company has not yet revealed the name of the concept, it is likely to serve as a preview for a future production model. Mitsubishi released two teaser images showing parts of the front and rear panels of the SUV. Although the model name is still undisclosed, hidden text on the website refers to it as the “DST Concept.”

A closer look at the images reveals that the rear door design is somewhat similar to that of a three-row, seven-seat SUV, leading us to believe that the concept may be a smaller version of the soon-to-be-discontinued Pajero.

One possibility is that the concept showcases a new generation of Pajero Sport, which is expected to debut soon and is likely to share its platform with the midsize pickup truck, Triton. The more logical option might be an extended version of the Mitsubishi X Force compact SUV, with a redesigned body and three-row seating layout.

The LED headlights resemble those on the X Force, while the grille is inspired by the Outlander. Mitsubishi confirms that the unveiling of the seven-seater SUV in the Philippines underscores the brand's commitment to delivering new offerings to Southeast Asian countries.

This indicates that the production model is likely to be limited to the Southeast Asian market. As for the powertrain options, no details have been shared yet, but it is expected to feature the same traditional 1.5-liter four-cylinder engine that produces 103 horsepower, along with a continuously variable transmission and front-wheel drive.
