NIO also offers customers the option to purchase the vehicle without the battery under its “Battery as a Service” (BaaS) program, where they can lease the battery for a monthly fee starting at 728 yuan, reducing the base vehicle price to 228,000 yuan. NIO announced attractive incentives for customers who place orders before June 30, including four free battery swaps per month for five years and five years of free usage of the advanced Navigate on Pilot Plus (NOP+) autonomous driving system. Buyers also receive a free electric charging and discharging kit or can exchange it for 5,000 yuan credit toward additional options. The incentives include a free comfort package worth 9,500 yuan, featuring ventilated and massaging front seats.

The new ET5 retains its distinctive mid-size sedan dimensions with five seats: 4,790 mm length, 1,960 mm width, and 1,499 mm height, with a 2,888 mm wheelbase. The ET5T wagon variant has nearly identical dimensions but with a taller rear height to provide additional cargo space, making it an ideal choice for families and travel enthusiasts.
Strong Performance and Significant Sales Impact
The ET5 and ET5T are among NIO’s most important models after the ES6, contributing significantly to the company’s total sales. In 2024, 26,510 ET5 units were delivered (11.94% of total sales), and 50,869 ET5T units (22.92%). In the first four months of 2025, ET5 accounted for 8.01% of sales and ET5T for 20.41%, reflecting the popularity of these models in the Chinese market.
