In Saudi Arabia, the traffic department has officially announced new traffic closure measures.
Starting today (Monday), the traffic management department of the holy city, in collaboration with the governorate of Mecca and the royal authority of the city of Mecca and the holy sites, has decided to close Prince Mohammed bin Salman Road (formerly Umm al-Qura Road) in both directions until it intersects with the ongoing second ring road project.
The traffic department urges drivers to utilize alternative road networks to smoothly reach their destinations.
Additionally, the traffic department stated that traffic will be closed on the bridge at the intersection of Umm al-Qura Road and Mansour Road, with all vehicles coming from Jeddah redirected onto Mansour Street towards the second ring road.
In the closure area, there are U-turns before and after, allowing access from Al-Aziziyah area to the sacred area via King Abdulaziz Road.
