In the world of sports cars, a sendoff takes on greater meaning when it combines rarity and a power tag that turns heads. The Toyota Supra A90 Final Edition marks the dramatic finale of the fifth generation of this iconic Japanese nameplate. What’s surprising isn’t just its exhilarating performance but also its price, which exceeds all expectations, even outpricing premium German rivals like the BMW M4 Competition.

Limited Edition with Exclusive Features

Toyota announced that the Final Edition of the Supra will be limited to 300 units, evenly split between Europe and Japan. Each region will receive 150 units, adding a strong sense of rarity and exclusivity to the model. In Japan, the car is priced at approximately 15 million yen (€92,500 / 370,555 AED) and is sold through a lottery system, where potential buyers must enter a draw to secure purchase rights.

In Europe, prices are significantly higher. In Germany, the Toyota Supra Final Edition starts at €142,800 (572,056 AED), nearly double the price of the standard six cylinder variant, which begins at €73,250 (293,439 AED). In France, the price reaches €144,000 (577,108 AED), and buyers there must also win a lottery for the opportunity to purchase one.

At these prices, the Final Edition surpasses many high end sports cars, including the Porsche 911 Carrera T starting at €141,700 (567,891 AED), a fully equipped BMW M4 Competition, and even the V6 powered Lotus Emira. On the used market, the same budget could also buy a Ferrari 458 or an Audi R8 with a naturally aspirated V10 engine.

To justify its high price tag, Toyota delivers a comprehensive package of performance and design upgrades. The car features an enhanced version of the B58 turbocharged engine with a 3.0 liter displacement and six inline cylinders. Output has been increased to 429 horsepower, up from 382 hp in the standard version, while torque now reaches 570 Nm, compared to 500 Nm. These are the highest figures ever achieved in a Toyota GR Supra and even surpass those of all BMW models using the same engine.

The Supra is equipped with a titanium exhaust system, larger Brembo front brakes, and an adjustable KW suspension setup. It rides on staggered wheels measuring 19 inches at the front and 20 inches at the rear, wrapped in Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires that are 10% wider than before. In terms of aerodynamics, the car sports a prominent rear wing and a front spoiler, both crafted from carbon fiber, along with a removable hood vent designed to improve cooling during track sessions.

Inside, the cabin reflects a blend of luxury and motorsport influence, featuring Recaro carbon fiber bucket seats, red seatbelts, and premium Alcantara upholstery. Power is delivered through a six speed manual transmission exclusively, supported by an aluminum rear subframe mount derived from the GT4 racing variant.

As of now, Toyota has not announced a comparable version of the Supra Final Edition for the U.S. market. However, it’s reasonable to expect that a similarly exclusive and powerful send off will arrive stateside. While opinions vary on whether the car justifies its steep price, it unquestionably stands as a bold and fitting farewell to one of Toyota’s most iconic sports cars.
