2024 Voyah FREE in-depth Walkaround
Introducing the new Voyah Free, a range-extended mid-size SUV that has taken the Chinese market by storm, effectively supplanting all previous trim levels. Currently available for purchase exclusively in China, this remarkable SUV presents a singular version boasting an Extended Range Electric Vehicle (EREV) configuration. With a substantial 490 horsepower under its hood, the Voyah Free accelerates from zero to a hundred kilometers per hour in a mere 4.8 seconds, exemplifying its performance prowess. What truly sets it apart is its remarkable CLTC range of 1,211 kilometers, a testament to its efficiency and versatility.
The Voyah Free has undergone subtle yet impactful redesigns, particularly at its rear end. A sportier roof spoiler and bumper infuse a sense of dynamism into its aesthetic, enhancing its overall appeal. The taillight units and other intricate details have retained their originality, maintaining the SUV's distinctive visual identity. Noteworthy is the unchanged side profile of the Voyah Free, underscoring its imposing stature as a capacious 5-seat SUV. Its dimensions, measuring at 4905/1950/1645 mm, and a wheelbase of 2960 mm, further amplify its presence on the road.
Intriguingly, the new Voyah Free is exclusively available in an EREV variant, which integrates a 1.5-liter turbocharged Internal Combustion Engine (ICE) generating 150 horsepower. However, the primary role of this engine is that of a generator, charging the battery or directly supplying energy to the electric motors. Speaking of the electric motors, the SUV is propelled by two of them. The rear axle motor delivers an impressive 272 horsepower and 410 Nm of torque, while the front axle motor contributes 218 horsepower and 310 Nm. Combining their forces, the Voyah Free achieves a total power output of 480 horsepower and a substantial torque of 720 Nm. Its impressive acceleration and top speed of 4.8 seconds and 200 km/h respectively establish its position as a formidable contender in the automotive landscape.
