The thing that attracted me most to the Suzuki Swift is its look — small and cute, kind of like a Mini Cooper, and super easy to park, especially for beginners. The performance isn’t very powerful, but the handling is excellent. It really gives you the feeling that it’s made for people who enjoy driving. I got the manual version, and at first the clutch was a bit tricky, but once I got used to it, I really started enjoying the drive.
The interior space is decent — three people can sit in the back just fine, but the trunk is a bit small. The main downside is that the cabin is mostly hard plastic, and there's almost no sound insulation. But I knew all that before buying. For me, the design and driving feel were the most important things — and I’m honestly really happy with it. The M15 engine from Suzuki is known for being reliable and easy and cheap to maintain.

I’ve previously talked about my E300 and 5 Series, and I wasn’t planning to talk about this little "pocket rocket," but I felt like I’d be doing it an injustice if I didn’t! I own four cars, and this is the smallest one — bought it in 2024, and so far, I’ve driven it for 28,000 km. The Suzuki Swift — honestly, it’s such a fun car. Small, but full of character. For daily use? More than enough. It even gives you a bit of that crossover feel. Head and legroom are great, and the leather seats with detailed stitching look premium. The interior matches the exterior color — very clean and stylish.
It has a 1.5L VVT engine paired with a 5-speed manual transmission — super fun to drive, especially for enthusiasts. It’s nimble, quick in traffic, easy to maneuver, and fits into any parking space.
Running costs? Almost nothing. I use 0W20 fully synthetic oil, with a full service every 7,000 km for just AED 260 — all original parts. The engine is Japanese-made by Suzuki — honestly, it’s bulletproof. You can’t break it even if you tried!
Fuel consumption depends on how you drive. With a light foot, it stays around 5L/100km. If you push it hard, it still won’t go over 7.5L. Any downsides? Maybe the steering is a bit heavy. Other than that? No issues at all — and since it doesn’t have too many electronics, there’s less that can go wrong.
God willing, I’ll share my experience with the Buick Avenir soon — but today I just had to give this little champ the appreciation it deserves.

Car enthusiasts, do you think that by changing the gear ratio and using 95 octane fuel, there's a chance to reach a top speed of 190 km/h? 😁

For a 2013 Suzuki Swift, if you're experiencing a buzzing noise at speeds of 40 km/h and above, and the noise gets louder as you go faster, what can you do to reduce the sound? Any advice from experts would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Suzuki Swift

Based on your information, spending nearly 1,000 yuan on fuel for about 1,600 kilometers, with a fuel consumption of 6 to 6.5 liters per 100 kilometers, seems quite reasonable for a 2012 automatic Suzuki Swift. This fuel economy is typical for this model and year, especially considering it's an automatic transmission. If you're mostly driving in urban areas with traffic, this consumption is quite normal.

1. Does anyone know if it's normal for there to be a "thud" sound when quickly releasing the clutch from first to second gear in a manual Suzuki Swift?
2. When pressing the clutch to engage first gear, sometimes there's a "thud" sound near the left foot. What's the issue?
