BYD recently released the first official preview of the HanL, a new model positioned above the current BYD Han. This flagship car introduces a sleek design and incorporates BYD's fifth-generation DM hybrid technology. It is expected to debut soon, with a projected price of 234,900 SAR in Saudi Arabia.
The HanL’s design, as seen in teasers and previous camouflaged images, showcases a modernized headlamp assembly, a front fascia with guiding channels and black trim, and a roof-mounted LiDAR to support high-level intelligent driving systems. The traditional clamshell engine hood is replaced with a U-shaped design, and the side mirrors are mounted directly on the doors for improved aerodynamics.
At the rear, the HanL retains the signature through-light bar design but with a more compact and refined light chamber. A silver trim at the D-pillar adds an elegant touch. Given its premium positioning, the HanL is also larger than the current Han models, with dimensions of 4995 mm (length), 1910 mm (width), and 1495 mm (height), and a wheelbase of 2920 mm.
Inside, the HanL offers a fresh and innovative interior. It features a floating all-digital instrument cluster and an adaptive rotating central display. The traditional gear shifter has been replaced with a shift-by-wire mechanism, creating space for a reimagined sub-dashboard layout.
The HanL is rumored to include BYD's upgraded Yunnian system, front and rear double-wishbone independent suspension, and premium features like an onboard refrigerator. The plug-in hybrid version will be powered by BYD's advanced fifth-generation DM hybrid technology. However, these details remain speculative, with official specifications yet to be confirmed.
