In a groundbreaking step for urban mobility, Air Taxi Vertiport has signed an exciting partnership with Cluster2, a Saudi airport operator, to jointly develop advanced air mobility (AAM) and urban air mobility (UAM) systems. This collaboration is not just a fusion of technologies but a revolution in the way we envision future transportation. The two companies plan to establish a comprehensive urban air mobility ecosystem across 22 airports within the Cluster2 network, heralding a new era of aerial commuting.

Carlo Torci, CEO of UrbanV, said during the announcement, "We want to improve people's lives by providing a fast, efficient, safe and environmentally friendly alternative for short distance transportation solutions. He further emphasized, "Our ambition is to become a leading global operator of vertical airport networks and to pioneer some of the first AAM routes in the world. Partnering with Cluster2 will allow us to explore the vast potential of providing advanced air mobility in Saudi Arabia".

As part of this initiative, UrbanV will also share its expertise in AAM and provide training programs and technical knowledge. The company recently partnered with Icad Holdings, an infrastructure construction and technology company, to develop the necessary infrastructure in Saudi Arabia and the Middle East to support advanced air mobility. The two companies plan to design the layout for vertical airports and develop a plan for operating vertical airports in the Middle East.

UrbanV and Icad also plan to explore joint opportunities for AAM and urban air mobility projects throughout the region. The infrastructure plan will include take-off and landing procedures, technology integration and operational schemes for vertical airports and networks. Ultimately, the partners aim to deploy and operate eVTOL vehicles within a network of vertical airports, including Nice Côte d'Azur Airport, the second largest airport in France, as well as Cannes Mandelieu and Saint-Tropez Bay Airport. For aircraft such as air taxis, vertical airports are essential for safe takeoffs, landings, and passenger and cargo operations.
