The automotive industry sees the Audi A5 undergo a major transformation, with the brand deciding to discontinue coupe, five-door, and convertible models. From now on, the A5 will serve as the replacement for the A4, launching as both a five-door sedan and a station wagon.
For fans of convertibles and coupes, this is indeed disappointing as these models will no longer be produced. For others, they can view the latest version of the A5 at the 2024 Paris Motor Show, where only the A5 Avant model is currently showcased, equipped with a 204-horsepower TFSi gasoline engine.
The newly named A5 replaces the previous A4, showcasing a sleeker and sportier appearance to attract customers of the A5 Sportback, featuring a new five-door design.
Notably, the previously available sunroof has been replaced by a fixed glass roof, and the convertible will completely disappear, making it impossible to open the car's roof. Additionally, Audi offers a third display for the passenger to enhance the interior configuration.
The new A5 is slightly longer than its predecessor, with an overall length of 4.83 meters, a width of 1.86 meters, and a height of 1.46 meters, drawing aesthetic inspiration from the E-Tron GT sedan. The Audi A5 and A5 Avant will be available in gasoline, diesel, and PHEV hybrid versions, all equipped with a 7-speed S-Tronic transmission. Orders for the car are expected to begin in France in November.
