Yangwang, the premium brand under BYD, has officially begun delivering its all electric luxury sedan, the U7, in China, marking a bold move toward competing with the elite in the high end automotive world. The first handover ceremony took place at the Yangwang Center in Chongqing, where BYD Chairman Wang Chuanfu personally presented the keys to early customers, highlighting the strategic importance of this flagship model in the brand’s long term vision.

Extreme Quad Motor Power and an Exceptional Driving Experience

The Yangwang U7 debuts with 1,287 hp, 2.9s acceleration, a 720 km range, electromagnetic suspension, and advanced LiDAR based autonomous driving tech.
The Yangwang U7 is built on a comprehensive technological concept known as the “Four Electric Architecture,” which combines a powerful battery, four independent electric motors, an intelligent electronic control system, and the advanced DiSus-Z electromagnetic suspension. This suspension system is the first of its kind globally in the automotive industry, drawing on precision technologies used in aircraft carrier catapults and high speed maglev trains.

Together, the four motors generate an astonishing 1,287 horsepower (960 kW), allowing the U7 to sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in just 2.9 seconds. The car reaches a top speed of 270 km/h, while its massive 135.5 kWh battery delivers a driving range of up to 720 kilometers based on the CLTC cycle.

In terms of size, the U7 balances elegance with a commanding presence, measuring 5,360 mm in length, 2,000 mm in width, and 1,515 mm in height, with a long wheelbase of 3,200 mm. Despite its large dimensions, it offers remarkable agility thanks to a smart rear-wheel steering system that rotates up to 20 degrees. This enables a turning radius similar to that of an A0-segment compact car, making urban driving smooth and effortless.

Magnetic Suspension and AI Integration

The Yangwang U7 debuts with 1,287 hp, 2.9s acceleration, a 720 km range, electromagnetic suspension, and advanced LiDAR based autonomous driving tech.
The DiSus-Z magnetic suspension system marks a groundbreaking advancement in ride comfort and vehicle stability. It utilizes electric power to generate an active force that instantly counteracts road vibrations. Operating through a network of advanced sensors, the system continuously reads road surface changes and wheel movements, transmitting data to a central control unit. This unit relies on precise algorithms to manage the behavior of each suspension point independently.

By actively decoupling the vehicle body from road-induced vibrations, the system creates a floating sensation for passengers, significantly enhancing ride quality even on uneven surfaces. Additionally, it offers energy regeneration by converting the kinetic energy from road impacts into electricity, improving overall efficiency and system sustainability.

On the safety and intelligence front, the Yangwang U7 is equipped with the God’s Eye A advanced driving assistance system. Featuring three LiDAR sensors and high performance processors, it enables highly accurate autonomous driving and effortless maneuvering, whether on the highway or when parking in tight urban spaces.

A Premium Price for an All Electric Flagship

The Yangwang U7 debuts with 1,287 hp, 2.9s acceleration, a 720 km range, electromagnetic suspension, and advanced LiDAR based autonomous driving tech.
The Yangwang U7 is priced from 628,000 Chinese yuan (87,150 USD - 321,453 AED), positioning it directly against luxury heavyweights like the Mercedes Benz S-Class, BMW 7 Series, and Audi A8L. As the third model in Yangwang’s lineup, following the U8 SUV and the U9 sports car, the U7 marks the brand’s bold entry into the elite electric sedan segment.

Deliveries have already begun across China, with vehicles being shipped to Yangwang Centers in major cities based on order priority. Global expansion is expected soon, with strong interest anticipated from luxury car enthusiasts in GCC markets, where high performance, advanced technology, and refined comfort are all key expectations.
