Bold Design and Practical Dimensions
The electric Bronco comes as a five seater SUV with imposing dimensions that give it a strong road presence:
Length: 5,025 mm
Width: 1,960 mm
Height: 1,815 mm
Wheelbase: 2,950 mm
The curb weight stands at 2,630 kg, positioning it among the heavy duty SUVs designed for long journeys and versatile driving. As for the exterior, images from China’s MIIT filings reveal a design that stays true to the Bronco’s rugged identity, along with a lidar unit mounted above the front windshield. This addition indicates Ford’s intention to equip the Bronco with advanced driver assistance systems that enhance safety and driving confidence.
Electric Performance Powered by BYD Battery
The Ford Bronco BEV comes equipped with an all wheel drive system featuring two electric motors. The front axle is powered by a 130 kW motor, while the rear axle carries a 202 kW unit, delivering a combined output of 232 kW (311 hp). With a top speed of 170 km/h, the Bronco offers strong performance for a large electric SUV.
At its core lies BYD’s Blade LFP battery with a capacity of 105.4 kWh, providing up to 650 km of range on the CLTC cycle. This impressive figure positions the Bronco among the leading full size electric SUVs in terms of efficiency and long distance capability.
EREV Variant with a Range of up to 1,220 km
Alongside the fully electric version, Ford introduced the extended range hybrid EREV, which combines electric performance with the support of an internal combustion engine that acts solely as a generator.
Equipped with the same 130 kW front electric motor, paired with a smaller 180 kW motor at the rear.
Powered by a 1.5 liter gasoline engine producing 110 kW, which does not connect to the wheels but generates electricity for the motors or supports the battery.
Features a 43.7 kWh battery providing up to 220 km of pure electric driving.
When combined with the gasoline engine, the total driving range reaches 1,220 km.
The curb weight stands at 2,510 kg.
With these specifications, the EREV variant offers remarkable flexibility for drivers seeking daily electric mobility while still having the confidence to travel long distances without worrying about running out of charge.
Availability and Market Launch
Ford Bronco BEV and EREV are set to debut in the Chinese market in the final quarter of this year, distributed through Ford’s local dealer network. As for international markets, the company has not yet confirmed plans to export these models to regions such as the Gulf or North America.
With this launch, the Bronco steps into a new era of electrification, combining its legendary heritage with Chinese technology and BYD’s advanced batteries. The blend of strong performance and extended driving range positions it as one of the most promising SUVs for enthusiasts seeking a true electric alternative that delivers both power and reliability.
