The Saudi Traffic Authority recently detailed the circumstances under which the 25% reduction on traffic fines does not apply, as specified in Article 75 of the traffic law.

The Saudi Traffic Authority has clarified the situations where the 25% fine reduction is not applicable

According to the announcement, the fine reduction is ineligible in the following cases:

  1. If no objection is filed within 30 days of the traffic violation.

  2. If the fine is not paid within the initial 15-day grace period, and no request for an extension is submitted.

  3. If an additional 90-day payment extension is granted but payment is not made within the first 30 days of that period.

The authority also emphasized that using handheld devices while driving is a serious violation of traffic regulations, punishable by fines ranging from 500 to 900 Riyals.

In a separate update, the authority reported a traffic accident in Al-Lith Province, where a truck veered off course and collided with a shop. The incident caused three injuries and extensive property damage. Legal proceedings have already been initiated against the driver.
