The traffic authority in Saudi Arabia has announced that to benefit from a 50% reduction of accumulated traffic fines prior to April 18, 2024, one must avoid traffic violations that affect public safety.
The traffic authority stated that these violations must be avoided to not lose eligibility for fine reductions. The violations affecting the reduction include:
– Drifting.
– Driving under the influence of prohibited substances, drugs, or medications that impair driving.
– Exceeding the speed limit of 120 km/h by more than 50 km/h.
– Exceeding the speed limit of 140 km/h by more than 30 km/h.
Moreover, the traffic authority clarified that the reduction rate for traffic fines is 50% and applies to all violations listed in the traffic system. The reduction period is from April 18, 2024, to October 18, 2024, lasting for 6 full months. All violators, including citizens, residents, visitors, and citizens of the Gulf Cooperation Council, can benefit from this.
