In a move that reflects its bold vision for the future of electric mobility, Chinese automaker Xpeng has unveiled the new Max variants of its Mona M03 electric sedan, redefining what affordable smart cars can offer. These new variants combine sleek design and long driving range with advanced self driving capabilities rivaling those of Tesla, all without any extra fees. Prices start at just 129,800 RMB, equivalent to around 66,165 AED.
An AI Revolution at an Unbeatable Price
Xpeng’s Max variant of the Mona M03 introduces the internally developed Turing smart driving system, which operates across all public roads in China without requiring any subscription fees or additional costs. This system directly rivals Tesla’s Full Self Driving technology, yet it comes included in the Mona M03 Max at no extra charge. In contrast, Tesla Model 3 buyers must pay an additional 64,000 RMB (32,623 AED) on top of the base price of 235,500 RMB (120,046 AED) to access similar features.
The Mona M03 Max is available in two configurations: the first starts at 129,800 RMB (66,165 AED) with a driving range of 502 kilometers, while the second is priced at 139,800 RMB (71,262 AED) and offers an extended range of up to 600 kilometers, based on the CLTC standard. Both options are powered by Nvidia Orin-X smart driving chips, delivering a massive 508 trillion operations per second, four times the processing power found in comparable systems in this price segment.
This advanced setup allows for seamless shared control between the driver and the vehicle, ensuring uninterrupted input during steering and a confident, intuitive driving experience. The car also features intelligent parking capabilities for tight spaces and supports point to point navigation without restrictions on road types or traffic conditions, making everyday driving smoother than ever.
Mona M03 Plus: Practical Performance Meets Modern Design
Alongside the Max variant, Xpeng has introduced two new Plus options for the Mona M03, designed to meet the needs of drivers seeking a reliable and practical electric vehicle at an affordable price. The first version is priced at 119,800 yuan (61,067 AED), offering a driving range of up to 515 kilometers. The second version starts at 129,800 yuan (66,165 AED) and provides an extended range of up to 620 kilometers based on the CLTC standard.
Although the Plus variants do not include the advanced Turing smart driving system, they still deliver a solid driving experience thanks to a suite of standard technologies. These include adaptive cruise control, lane keeping assist, and intelligent parking assistance, all of which ensure smooth and safe handling in urban environments and daily commutes.
The Plus variant targets drivers looking for a modern electric car that blends contemporary design with essential tech and operational efficiency, all without breaking the bank. It is particularly well suited to the Gulf market, especially in Saudi Arabia and the UAE, where electric vehicle adoption is rising and charging infrastructure is rapidly expanding, making the Mona M03 Plus a practical and forward thinking choice.
Record Breaking Sales and Rapid Global Ambitions
Since its official debut in August 2024, the Xpeng Mona M03 has made a strong impact in the electric vehicle market, with total deliveries surpassing 120,000 units to date. In April alone, the company delivered 14,210 units of the M03, accounting for over 40 percent of Xpeng’s total monthly sales, according to the latest data.
Following the launch of the new Max and Plus variants, the Mona M03 witnessed exceptional demand, securing over 12,500 confirmed orders within just the first hour of availability. Notably, 83 percent of those orders were for the Max variant, reflecting the high consumer interest in advanced smart driving technologies when offered at an accessible price point.
Commenting after the event, Xpeng Chairman He Xiaopeng confirmed that the Mona lineup is set to expand further with additional models aimed at global markets. This move signals the company’s intention to replicate its domestic success on the international stage.
Combining long driving range, advanced AI driven features, and competitive pricing, the Mona M03 continues to solidify Xpeng’s position as one of the most promising rising names in the affordable electric vehicle segment, delivering a futuristic driving experience without the premium cost burden.
