Xpeng has officially unveiled the all electric G7, a mid size SUV positioned to compete in the growing EV market. Priced from 235,800 yuan in China, the G7 starts at approximately 32,500 USD (119,355 AED). This new model combines futuristic design with next level smart features. It is the first Xpeng vehicle to feature a cutting edge AR-HUD head up display co-developed with Huawei, alongside a fully camera based autonomous driving system powered by Xpeng’s in house Turing AI chips. Together, these innovations promise a safer and more precise self driving experience.
Dynamic Design and Bold Proportions that Command Attention
The exterior design of the Xpeng G7 adopts the second generation of the brand’s signature X Face identity, marked by a striking full width daytime running light that seamlessly blends with split headlamp units integrated into the air ducts. A sporty active front grille enhances aerodynamic efficiency while adding a bold presence to the front fascia. With well proportioned dimensions, the G7 projects strength and spaciousness, measuring 4,892 mm in length, 1,925 mm in width, and 1,655 mm in height, along with a generous 2,890 mm wheelbase. These figures position it above the G6 model, contributing to a more grounded stance and a confident road presence.
Frameless doors with soft close electronic latching elevate the sense of luxury, while flush, automatically deploying door handles maintain the sleek silhouette. The G7 is available with 18 or 20 inch alloy wheels, paired with a selection of six exterior paint finishes, including Starry Grey, Crescent Silver, and Interstellar Green. The result is a refined yet futuristic aesthetic that strikes a balance between elegance and boldness.
Luxurious Cabin with Smart Tech and a Full Entertainment Experience
The interior of the Xpeng G7 reflects a philosophy of refined simplicity. At the heart of the cabin is a floating 15.6 inch central display that replaces the traditional instrument cluster, presenting driving data and entertainment features in a sleek, modern interface. The materials used throughout the cabin include natural wood, polished metal, and genuine leather, with four interior color options that create a comfortable and personalized atmosphere for all passengers.
A standout feature is the AR-HUD system, developed in collaboration with Huawei, which offers an expansive 87 inch field of view. This advanced display projects high resolution navigation content and driving prompts using sophisticated image stabilization, distortion correction, and real-time latency compensation technologies. Powering the system is Xpeng’s VLA OL AI architecture, designed to mimic the brain’s structure for faster, more accurate real time processing and decision making.
Comfort is a clear priority, with Nappa leather seats that feature built in heating, ventilation, and massage functions. At the front, dual 50W wireless charging pads ensure fast device charging. The immersive in car experience continues with a 20 speaker 7.1.4 surround sound system and customizable ambient lighting with 256 color options. Additional premium touches include a panoramic sunroof, a digital rearview mirror, a password protected glovebox, an 8 inch rear control screen, and a foldable magnetic table behind the front passenger seat.
Balanced Electric Performance and Versatile Range for Every Need
The Xpeng G7 is powered by a rear mounted electric motor delivering 218 kilowatts, equivalent to approximately 292 horsepower. This setup ensures smooth acceleration and responsive handling across various driving conditions.
Buyers can choose between two battery options: a 68.5 kWh pack and a larger 80.8 kWh pack, offering a flexible driving range that suits different usage patterns. With the smaller battery and 18 inch wheels, the G7 delivers a CLTC rated range of 602 kilometers. Opting for the larger battery increases the range to an impressive 702 kilometers. When equipped with 20 inch wheels, the range drops to 577 kilometers with the smaller pack and 677 kilometers with the larger one.
Thanks to its rear wheel drive layout, the G7 maintains ideal weight distribution between the axles. This enhances cornering stability and ensures a confident, composed driving experience both on highways and in urban traffic.
Advanced Autonomous Driving and Direct Competition with Industry Leaders
The Ultra trim of the Xpeng G7 is equipped with three in house developed Turing AI chips, delivering over 2,200 TOPS (trillion operations per second) of computing power. This performance is roughly equivalent to that of nine Nvidia Orin-X chips, enabling the G7 to support advanced autonomous driving features up to Level 3. Uniquely, this system relies entirely on a vision based approach using cameras, eliminating the need for LiDAR sensors, thanks to Xpeng’s proprietary XNGP platform. This technology supports high level driver assistance capabilities for both city and highway scenarios, as well as fully automated smart parking.
With this powerful AI integration, Xpeng positions the G7 as a serious contender against established rivals like the Tesla Model Y, which sold 24,770 units in May 2025, and the Zeekr 7X, which recorded 4,651 units in the same month. Xpeng plans to begin official deliveries of the G7 in Q3 2025, riding on strong commercial momentum. The company reported a total of 162,578 vehicles delivered in the first five months of the year, reflecting a 293 percent year over year growth, with monthly deliveries consistently exceeding 30,000 units for seven consecutive months.
